AMP helps active persons move more confidently and powerfully by improving movement mechanics through education and neuroscience.
The MISSION
Use individualized exercise programs that improve the communication between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems to facilitate energy-efficient movement while decreasing stress through joints and strain on muscles to also reduce the risk of injury during complex movement.
The VISION
Dr. Aardsma (Dr.3A) was thrust directly into the typical outpatient orthopedic clinic and the “insurance system” that went with it after getting her DPT license. The system only paid for reactive treatment meaning the patient is already injured and in pain; it demanded (and still demands) that 12-20 patients treated a day during an 8 hour work day with an average of only 24-35 mins of direct time with the PT during a 60 minute visit aka NOT patient-centered care. She learned she didn’t like the way the system treated her patients and her as a provider; both parties deserved better.
AMP was created in October 2020 to provide patient-focused care with proactive treatment to reduce likelihood of injury and improve performance by training movement mechanics in a one-on-one setting. As a Division 1 athlete and beyond, Dr.3A learned first hand the the consequences of poor mechanics, disadvantage of not being taught more about human movement, and the obstacles of reactive care on quality of life and performance. For individual success with AMP, each client has to be willing to listen, communicate honestly, and do the physical work to move better and achieve more.
AMP strives to build a community of movement-informed, active persons that support each other both in their health and personal journeys.
AMP was founded by Dr.3A in 2020 to offer high-quality wellness & physical therapy services to help active individuals feel empowered during activity.
